Prior’s Tap and Tavern

Prior's Tap and Tavern

Welcome to Prior’s Tavern

Prior’s Tap and Tavern is a full service restaurant and bar located inside Princess Lanes Bowling Center at the Caste Village Shopping Center in Whitehall.

Prior’s features a large U-shaped bar and table seating for up to 125 guests. The enclosed restaurant is stylish and modern, and our staff members are service-oriented and welcoming. Whether you sit at the bar or in the comfortable booths, you can enjoy a meal and drink with friends, check on your favorite bowlers, or watch the world outside through our wall-to-wall windows.
Prior's Tap and Tavern

Prior’s has 5 big-screen TVs so patrons catch watch their favorite sports teams and catch up on local news. We can rearrange tables for a large party or after-bowling dinner. We also have a private room where customers can host baby showers, bridal parties, anniversary and graduation celebrations, communion and funeral luncheons, employee recognition dinners – and our 21st Birthday celebrations are famous!

Prior’s manager has experience in all aspects of food service, cooking and event planning – and can help you with menus, budgeting, suggestions for decorations and invitations, and recommendations for music and entertainment at your party. We do off-site catering and provide curbside parking for pickup orders.

Prior's Tap and Tavern
Prior’s Tavern is named for the historic inn that operated in the Brentwood-Whitehall area around 1850. The original “Prior’s White Hall Tavern” was situated on the Red Stone Road (Brownsville Road) that linked Pittsburgh with towns to the east and south. The original tavern was a log building with a hand-painted sign that read: “White Hall – Silas D. Prior, Proprietor.” Prior’s was the place where Pittsburghers on their way out of town stopped to change horses and have supper. This location is now the site of Slater’s Funeral Home.

Prior’s serves beer on tap and in the bottle; pitchers are popular for lane service. We feature a beer of the month, usually with special promotions. If you have a favorite beer that we don’t carry, let us know and we’ll do our best to have it when you come back.

Prior’s has a full menu of mixed drinks and cocktails, and stocks many popular wines. We also serve sodas, sparking water — and make fresh coffee all day!

Prior’s menu features traditional tavern fare with a “Burgh” twist, including hearty sandwiches, hoagies, pizza, soup, chili and a wide array of appetizers.

Customer favorites include our full-sized wings, huge chicken fingers and special hoagies. Bar patrons like our homemade chips, nachos, and mozzarella sticks. There is an extensive menu of burgers, sandwiches, soups, and salads – plus a daily lunch special and vegetarian options including our gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches.

Our cooks and bartenders are friendly and welcome suggestions and special requests. The wait staff is here to make sure your visit to Prior’s is fun and satisfying.

Prior’s caters large parties and welcomes schools, seniors and tour groups with reservations. We also do special orders and sit-down dinners by reservation.

Excellent shopping center. Has everything you need from restaurants to drug store and Giant Eagle Eagle across the street. Live near by and have no reason to go anywhere else.

A great, convenient place to stop. Armstrong's restaurant has been a family favorite of mine for many years now & is located near one of the entrances. Need to stop for a few things, Caste Village has you covered. Need to go on a beer run, or need a bottle of wine for dinner? Stop by for either here. In the mood for pizza? Little Ceasar's is located here also. Do you need a birthday or holiday card? Hallmark's got you covered. Maybe you just need a gallon of milk & a loaf of bread. Giant Eagle is directly across the street from Caste Village. No matter what you need, Caste Village, conveniently located at the end of Grove Road, is a nice, clean, safe & convenient, local option that my family and I have been choosing for many years. You should too.

This strip mall has been around way longer than I have and it looks like it. The facade looks great for 1992, but not almost 2020Inconveniently located around Grove & Baptist rds. Chances are you only found this place because you got lost.Actually, this entire area of Pittsburgh exists only because of temporal distortion. That explains the odd mix of businesses there.I swear the exterior of the Giant Eagle hasn't been touched since I was a child. Last time I was there a record store existed, but it is long gone. I'm sure those 3 45's I bought in 1983 helped keep them afloat.I don't care. Shop where you want.

Does not have as much as other Hallmarks. My father LOVES the diabetic candy from the loose candy buy by piece or weight...they only had Saris wrapped candy. Will go to other Hallmarks just because the Village and Virginia Manor have everything on my Hallmark list
